 PRODUCT PROPOSAL

First Non-Invasive Continuous Glucose Monitor for Kids

Chirp would be the first noninvasive continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) watch created to treat kids with diabetes. This product proposal expands upon the CGM technology currently used to treat adults with diabetes and reimagines how this technology would be used by diabetic kids and their families.   This project was developed for a Graduate level course and delivered as a strategy deck. I worked on a team of 4 and was responsible for developing user stories, product design, branding, and digital UX.

Challenge: Improve disease management for families with diabetic children.

Solution: Designed a wearable watch & app that streamlines disease management for families with diabetic children.

DESIGNING FOR ADOPTION

The goal of this proposal was to develop a product that would be to achieve full market adoption. In order to ensure this outcome, we followed applied principles of adoption theory to the product design. Our process can be broken down into three steps:

MARKET RESEARCH

User Needs & Pain Points

First, we conducted an analysis of the current market; including demographics, current solutions, and user needs. This research including public data, personal interviews, and medical research. We identified parents & children as an interdependent user group, each with unique pain points & needs. The needs of both groups had to be met to achieve sucessful product adoption

The Solution

Using the insights from our market research, we designed a product cluster (watch & phone app) that met the needs of the user group. To increase ease of adoption we followed the principles of compatibility to ensure the product & brand was perceived as being consistent with user values, needs, and previous experiences. [See list of features below]

DIFFUSION STRATEGY

Messaging & Marketing

After designing the product features we created a three-year diffusion strategy for marketing the new product. Utilizing the theory of adoption, we developed targeted campaigns and value propositions for each key adoption segment. We branded our product and created a website where potential users can learn more and request a free demo. [See Examples Below]
